Tri-Valley pickleball players are getting an indoor place to play next door in Livermore. Pickleball Kingdom plans to open an eight-court indoor club in Livermore by the end of December, Livermore Vine and Pleasanton Weekly reported Friday.
The 25,000-square-foot facility is being built at 4650 Arroyo Vista in the space left by the Joann Fabrics store that closed in the winter of 2023. Plans call for lighting, climate control and sound treatment designed for indoor play, along with a community room, a gaming lounge, an exercise and stretching area, a viewing platform, a pro shop, a dink wall and a ball machine.
The club, owned by pickleball players Abhimanyu Dhariwal and Shreya Trivedi, will offer open play sorted by skill level, private court reservations, clinics and lessons, free introductory classes, junior programs, leagues, tournaments and instant video replay.
Early access for the local club
Members of the Tri-Valley Pickleball Club will get first crack at the courts in December under a trial partnership. Dhariwal told Livermore Vine the arrangement reflects the club's role as the largest nonprofit organizing the sport's growth in the Tri-Valley.
The preview is set to include a four-hour tour of the building and time on the courts, and club members will be invited to a pilot event sometime in January or February.
Club President Kirby Wong said the new building could also become a venue for the group's social and competitive events.
