Monday is the last day for regular voter registration; Pleasanton's first vote center opens Saturday at the PUSD office

Alameda County's standard registration deadline for Nov. 3 is Oct. 19. After that, residents can still register conditionally and vote at the county elections office, and five Pleasanton vote centers open in two waves.

Monday, Oct. 19, is the close of the regular voter registration period for the Nov. 3 general election, according to the Alameda County Registrar of Voters.

Residents can register online at registertovote.ca.gov using a California driver's license or ID card number, the last four digits of their Social Security number and their date of birth. Paper applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered to the county elections office at least 15 days before the election.

Missing Monday's deadline does not end the chance to vote. After the 15-day cutoff, eligible residents can "conditionally" register and cast a ballot at the county elections office, the registrar's office says. Voters can check whether they are already registered in Alameda County through the registrar's My Voter Profile page.

Where to vote in person in Pleasanton

The county lists five vote centers in Pleasanton:

  • Opens Saturday, Oct. 24: Pleasanton Unified School District office, 5794 W. Las Positas Blvd. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Nov. 2.
  • Opens Saturday, Oct. 31: Valley View Elementary, 480 Adams Way; Pleasanton Middle School, 5001 Case Ave.; Harvest Park Middle School, 4900 Valley Ave.; and Alisal Elementary, 1454 Santa Rita Road. These sites are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 31 through Nov. 2.

All five are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

The registrar also holds public logic and accuracy testing for the Nov. 3 election on Thursday, Oct. 22.

Registrar says procedures are unchanged

In a statement on the county elections site, Interim Registrar of Voters Cynthia Cornejo said the office is tracking court developments that may affect election administration but does "not anticipate any changes to our election processes at this time."

She encouraged voters to return mail ballots early at an official 24-hour drop box or a vote center, while noting they can still mail them or vote in person.
