The Town of Danville, located approximately 13 miles northwest of Pleasanton, is preparing for its annual July 4 celebration, which will coincide with national observances of the United States 250th anniversary. The event will feature a parade organized by the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley, marking the 51st consecutive year the group has led the tradition.
The parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, running from 9 a.m. to noon along a route in Downtown Danville. Organizers anticipate more than 100 participating groups and thousands of spectators. The procession will include floats and musical performances, with decorations emphasizing red, white, and blue themes.
San Ramon Valley Unified School District has been designated as the 2026 Parade Grand Marshal. The district was selected to highlight the connection between local educational institutions and community strength.
Prior to the parade, the community will hold a separate recognition event on Friday, July 3. At 10 a.m., a proclamation will be presented to Veterans Service Organizations at the Veterans Memorial Building. This ceremony aims to acknowledge the service and sacrifice of veterans as the town prepares for Independence Day festivities.
The Kiwanis Club has maintained the parade annually since its inception, including a virtual iteration during the 2020 pandemic. Residents seeking additional information about the parade, entertainment options, and other summer activities can visit the town’s official website or contact the Kiwanis Club directly.
