Webb Dominates on the Mound
Logan Webb delivered a masterful performance on the mound, securing the win for the San Francisco Giants with seven innings of perfect pitching. The right-hander allowed just one hit and walked two batters while striking out six, maintaining complete control over the Atlanta Braves lineup throughout his outing. Webb’s efficiency was key, as he navigated through the order with precision, preventing any sustained rallies from developing against him.
Ryan Walker closed out the eighth inning with a scoreless frame, recording one walk and no hits. Sam Hentges followed by pitching the ninth inning, striking out one batter and allowing no runs to finalize the shutout. The Giants' bullpen combined with Webb to hold Atlanta scoreless, resulting in a decisive 5-0 victory.
Devers Powers Braves Offense
Despite the loss, Atlanta’s Rafael Devers was the primary offensive threat, accounting for all five runs scored by his team through two separate home runs. Devers opened the scoring in the second inning with a 404-foot blast to center field, giving the Braves an early 1-0 lead. He later expanded that advantage significantly in the third inning with a three-run home run to right field (359 feet), which also drove in teammates Arraez and Schmitt.
Gilbert contributed to the Braves' offensive output in the second inning with a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Eldridge. These were the only runs Atlanta managed to produce. The rest of the Braves' lineup was unable to generate further offense, leaving them with zero total runs for the game.
