49ers Add Four Players to Practice Squad

The San Francisco 49ers have announced the addition of four players to their practice squad.

One of the signings is Anthony Jr., a 22-year-old tight end from Durham, North Carolina. Standing at 6 feet 6 inches and weighing 258 pounds, he entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs on May 1, 2026.

After being waived by the Chiefs on August 30, he joins the 49ers following a collegiate career at Duke University, where he played 48 games and recorded 103 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, and 15 sacks.

Another player signed is 25-year-old defensive back Codrington, who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. He began his NFL journey with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2024. Over his two-year career, he has played for the Jets, Buffalo Bills, and Houston Texans, appearing in 21 games and accumulating nine tackles and two fumble recoveries.

Codrington was waived by the Texans on August 30. He attended North Carolina Central University, where he played 44 games and made 98 tackles.

The 49ers also signed Givens, a 29-year-old defensive lineman who stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 285 pounds. Givens has spent seven seasons with San Francisco after entering the league as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2019. He has played in 70 games, starting 14, and has recorded 93 tackles and eight sacks.

He was waived on August 5, 2026, after re-signing with the team on July 26. Givens attended Penn State University, where he played 39 games.

Lastly, the team signed Sarell, a 28-year-old offensive lineman from Graham, Washington, who is 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 315 pounds. Sarell entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens on May 13, 2021. He has played in 41 games across five teams, including the Ravens, New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, and Denver Broncos.

He was waived by the Broncos on August 30. Sarell played college football at Stanford University, appearing in 33 games.
