McVay explained that the coaching staff is considering roster implications for both situations and mentioned discussions about potential roster exemptions. He noted that the team is approaching the situation with flexibility and is taking it "a day at a time" as they await Donald's decision.
McVay referenced advice from his former college coach, Terry Hoeppner, about planning for the unexpected, which he believes applies to Donald and other players on the roster.
In recent weeks, Donald has been seen working out at the Rams' facilities, and he engaged with a social media post indicating he is preparing for the season. Quarterback Matthew Stafford, who has played alongside Donald, expressed confidence in his teammate's abilities.
Stafford commented on Donald's intense workout regimen, stating, "I feel bad for whoever’s working out with him, because the guy’s an absolute monster in the weight room."
