Pleasanton, California — Gov. Gavin Newsom on July 16 signed a package of bills touching water safety, wildfire prevention, drought planning, clean-air programs, transit-oriented housing and pupil-health measures.

The package includes a 2024 bond measure funding drinking-water safety, wildfire prevention, drought planning and clean-air efforts, alongside measures on federal home-loan banks, pupil-health suicide prevention, missing-persons DNA testing, renewable-generation aggregation for logistics and manufacturing firms, vocational training for young caregivers, child-welfare nonprofits and construction-debris diversion.

Also enacted were Senate bills on public-contract claim resolution, transit-oriented housing on excluded parcels, a public-transit revenue district, local-agency design-build authority, California Coastal Act permit appeals, administrative rules, state-records management and the State Lottery prize assignment. Together they touch water, housing, transportation, education and consumer fees.

Pleasanton is a city in the East Bay region of Northern California's Alameda County. Decisions in Sacramento on water bonds, transit funding and housing rules flow down to city permit offices and ratepayers across the state.
