That advantage doubled in the fifth when Abrams launched a 422-foot home run to center field, scoring Mead for a 4-1 lead. Immediately following that blast, Crews connected on a 362-foot homer to left, extending the margin to 5-1. These consecutive home runs proved decisive, breaking open what had been a close contest.
