Pleasanton’s City Council approved a $2,747,681 contract with Telstar Instruments on Oct. 6 to replace emergency standby generators at five pump stations.

The work includes electrical modifications and installation of the generators. Resolution 2026-087 also authorizes public works staff to approve contract changes using a contingency of up to $412,152, approximately 15 percent of the base contract.

The city received bids Sept. 2 and determined that Telstar submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid, according to the adopted resolution. Funding comes from the city’s water and sewer capital replacement funds.

Councilmembers Eicher, Gaidos, Nibert and Testa and Mayor Balch all voted in favor. The resolution authorizes the city manager to execute the contract, subject to minor changes approved by the city attorney. It does not establish a construction start date.
