Pleasanton-based Veeva has added a Vault AI tab to its EDC clinical data application, according to company notes for the Oct. 2 limited release.

The feature lets study teams ask questions without leaving EDC. Veeva says the assistant searches study operational information and help documentation, with responses based on the information a user is authorized to access. It does not reference site-entered casebook data.

The feature is automatically enabled in vaults that already have Veeva AI. Standard EDC application roles receive the AI-tab permission by default, except DQS roles; administrators can manage access through custom roles.

The release notes place the feature in version 26R2.3. Veeva cautions that feature enablement can change before a general release.

The company lists its global headquarters at 4280 Hacienda Drive in Pleasanton.
