Pleasanton, California — Gas prices in the Oakland area averaged $5.4220 per gallon for regular unleaded on July 11, 2026, according to AAA, down from $5.4370 yesterday. That is down from $5.4440 a week ago and lower than $5.8790 a month ago.
The statewide average in California stands at $5.3900, while the national average is $3.8820. Drivers in the Oakland area are paying above the state average and above the national average.
The Oakland average remains below its AAA recorded high of $6.5480. Regular prices are about 46 cents lower than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $4.5980, drivers are paying about 82 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Oakland area averages $6.4350 per gallon, AAA reported.
