Pleasanton, California — Gas prices in the Oakland area averaged $5.4910 per gallon for regular unleaded on July 19, 2026, according to AAA, up from $5.4670 yesterday. That is up from $5.4200 a week ago but lower than $5.6760 a month ago.
The statewide average in California stands at $5.4830, while the national average is $3.9980. Drivers in the Oakland area are paying above the state average and above the national average.
The Oakland average remains below its AAA recorded high of $6.5480. Regular prices are about 19 cents lower than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $4.5570, drivers are paying about 93 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Oakland area averages $6.6150 per gallon, AAA reported.
