The statewide average in California stands at $5.6270, while the national average is $4.1110. Drivers in the Oakland area are paying above the state average and above the national average.
The Oakland average remains below its AAA recorded high of $6.5480. Regular prices are about 6 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $4.5330, drivers are paying about 110 cents more per gallon.
