Pleasanton, California — Gas prices in the Oakland area averaged $6.3835 per gallon for regular unleaded on October 10, 2026, according to AAA, down from $6.3966 yesterday. That is down from $6.4572 a week ago and higher than $5.9426 a month ago.
The statewide average in California stands at $6.3148, while the national average is $4.3669. Drivers in the Oakland area are paying above the state average and above the national average.
The Oakland average remains below its AAA recorded high of $6.5480. Regular prices are about 44 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $4.6604, drivers are paying about 172 cents more per gallon.
