Neto’s Offensive Explosion

Neto delivered a dominant offensive performance, recording five hits and driving in seven runs to spearhead the Los Angeles Angels’ 18-3 rout of the Houston Astros at Daikin Park. The visiting Angels overwhelmed the home team with a barrage of offense that began early and never ceased.

Neto’s night included two extra-base hits, starting with a single in the first inning that scored Meckler to give Los Angeles an early 1-0 lead. He added another single in the fourth inning that brought Frazier home, followed by a massive three-run homer to center field in the fifth inning that extended the Angels' advantage to 14-2.

Neto completed his historic night with a double in the seventh inning that scored two more runs.

Rodriguez Dominates on the Mound

On the pitching side, Grayson Rodriguez provided a steady foundation for the Angels’ victory. He earned the win, improving his record to 4-5, by pitching seven innings without allowing an earned run. Rodriguez retired 18 of the 20 batters he faced, striking out six while walking two. He allowed five hits over his seven-inning outing.

Blake Weiman closed out the game for Los Angeles, pitching two innings and allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out three batters. The Angels’ bullpen held the Astros to just three runs total after Rodriguez left the game.

Astros Struggle Against Heavy Hitting

The Astros’ starting pitcher, Peter Lambert, took the loss, dropping his record to 8-7. He struggled significantly, allowing nine earned runs on eight hits in 3.2 innings. Bryan King followed with a difficult outing, giving up five earned runs on five hits in 1.1 innings.

Houston managed to score three runs in total. They tied the game 1-1 in the first inning thanks to a throwing error by third baseman Grissom, which allowed Wade Jr. to score. The Astros added an unearned run later when Alvarez scored on a wild pitch by Rodriguez.

In the second inning, Grissom and Heineman drove in runs for Houston, with Heineman’s sacrifice bunt allowing Grissom to cross home plate.

Game Details and Records

The Angels’ offense continued to pile on runs throughout the game. After Rodríguez’s three-run homer, Guzman added a two-run double in the ninth inning. Smith hit a sacrifice fly in the final frame to score Varsho, marking the Astros’ only run of the ninth.

The game drew an attendance of 20,934 fans at Daikin Park. With the victory, the Los Angeles Angels improved their record to 51-77. The Houston Astros fell to .500 with a record of 64-64.
