Urena works six scoreless innings as Angels blank Brewers 3-0

Urena leads the shutout

Walbert Urena worked six scoreless innings, allowed three hits and helped carry the Los Angeles Angels to a 3-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.

Urena struck out seven and walked three while earning the win to move to 7-7. The Angels held Milwaukee without a run in front of an announced attendance of 31,061.

Meckler provides the early offense

Los Angeles built its lead in the second inning. Meckler homered to right center, a 388-foot drive, and Grissom scored on the play to put the Angels ahead 2-0. It was the only home run of the game.

That swing accounted for the only runs charged to Jacob Misiorowski, who pitched seven innings for Milwaukee. Misiorowski allowed two hits and two earned runs, walked one and struck out 10. He took the loss and fell to 11-5.

Angels add on in the eighth

The score stayed 2-0 until the eighth inning, when Los Angeles added its final run. Neto reached on an infield single to third, and Guzman scored on the play to make it 3-0.

DL Hall pitched one inning for Milwaukee and allowed two hits and one earned run. He walked one and struck out one.

Bullpen closes it

Luke Murphy pitched one scoreless inning for Los Angeles, allowing no hits while walking one, and was credited with his first hold. Sam Bachman added one-third of an inning with no hits allowed, one walk and no strikeouts, earning his 17th hold.

Ryan Zeferjahn completed the pitching line for the Angels with 1 2/3 scoreless innings. He allowed two hits, walked none and struck out four while earning his fourth save.

Los Angeles improved to 43-69 with the win. Milwaukee dropped to 69-42.
