Angles Shift in Fifth
Grayson Rodriguez pitched five innings and allowed four earned runs, securing the victory for the Los Angeles Angels in their 6-4 triumph over the Seattle Mariners on Friday night at T-Mobile Park. The win improved Rodriguez’s record to 5-8 for the season.
The game remained tightly contested through the early frames before a flurry of action in the middle innings changed the dynamic. The Angels took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning when Christian Moore singled to right field, driving in Lowe. However, Seattle quickly responded with a two-run home run by Ty France that put them ahead 2-1.
The Mariners extended their lead to 3-1 later in the inning when Luis Rivas singled, scoring Nathaniel Lowe.
Key Inning Turns Tide
The fifth inning proved pivotal for Los Angeles. Bryce Teodosio grounded out to second base, but the play allowed Lowe to score, tying the game at 3-3. Neto followed with a single to left field, advancing Moore to home plate and giving the Angels their first lead of the night at 4-3.
The run count was further complicated by wild pitches from Mariners pitcher Bryan Rodriguez, which allowed Crawford to score, making it 5-4 before the inning ended.
