Marner Delivers in Overtime
Mitch Marner scored the overtime winner and added an assist Saturday, lifting the Vegas Golden Knights to a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings at T-Mobile Arena. The Golden Knights were the home team, and the Kings were the visitors.
Marner ended the game with one goal and two points. Mark Stone contributed two assists for Vegas, while Trevor Connelly had a goal and an assist in the victory.
Second-Period Exchange
The teams were scoreless through the opening period before Vegas moved in front in the second. Connelly scored his second goal on a snap shot, with Stone and Marner assisting, to give the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead.
Los Angeles answered later in the period. Artemi Panarin scored his third goal on a wrist shot, assisted by Adrian Kempe and Brandt Clarke, to make it 1-1. Panarin finished with one goal and one point, and Kempe had one assist for the Kings.
