The wreckage of a 49-foot cabin cruiser named Volare, which sank in San Francisco Bay earlier this week, has been located by crews on Friday. The San Francisco Police Department's Marine Unit discovered the wreckage near the area where the boat went down on Tuesday afternoon.

Since the sinking, the Marine Unit had been using boat-mounted sonar to search for the vessel. Following the discovery, crews have shifted to employing a remotely operated vehicle to further assess the wreckage.

Authorities plan to collaborate with partner agencies to evaluate recovery options and determine the safety and feasibility of retrieving the wreckage. Further details regarding the recovery process are not yet clear.
