Maison Benoit, a French bakery originally established in Danville in 2024, is expanding its operations to the Tri-Valley region. Owner Benoit Vialle confirmed that the business will open a second location in downtown Pleasanton. The new site will occupy the former Bank of America building at 337 Main Street, situated near Zachary’s and Locanda.

Construction work on the new facility has already begun. Vialle indicated that the bakery is not expected to open to the public until early next year. The Pleasanton location will be significantly larger than its predecessor, measuring 6,500 square feet, which is approximately three times the size of the Danville store.

The menu at the new location will mirror the offerings in Danville, featuring pastries, viennoiseries, and breads prepared by classically trained chefs. The bakery utilizes traditional slow fermentation methods and emphasizes high-quality ingredients. Additional items will include sandwiches, tartines, quiches, soups, salads, and espresso drinks. Production will take place on-site behind large glass windows, allowing customers to observe the baking process.

Due to the increased square footage, Vialle anticipates that the Pleasanton location will eventually offer a broader selection of items than the Danville branch. He expressed hope that the new site on Main Street would achieve similar success to the original location.

Separately, the source notes that Calicraft Brewing Co. in Walnut Creek recently opened a new beer garden in Shadelands. This outdoor space is part of a phased expansion that includes a future interior bar, a children's area, and an on-site restaurant planned for next summer.

Additionally, Slanging Dough, a sourdough pizza maker, is preparing to open its first permanent location in downtown Livermore after previously selling at farmers' markets.
