Maison Benoit, a bakery recognized for its croissants, is expanding its presence in the East Bay. The business, which currently operates out of Danville, will open a second location at 337 Main St. in downtown Pleasanton. Founder Benoit Vialle stated that the new shop is scheduled to open in early 2027.

Vialle described the upcoming Pleasanton location as having a concept similar to the Danville store, featuring premium products made on-site and a comfortable setting for community gatherings. He noted that the menu is expected to remain largely the same but will be slightly expanded due to the availability of a larger kitchen space.

The bakery gained recognition in 2025 after winning a Best Croissant San Francisco competition, outperforming 349 other competitors from across the Bay Area. The establishment is known for its light, airy croissants made with Isigny Sainte-Mère butter, a dairy product from the coast of France. In addition to standard croissants, the menu includes Valrhona chocolate varieties and a larger, football-sized option priced at $35.

Benoit Vialle is originally from Paris, France, a background shared by many of the shop’s bakers and pastry chefs. The Danville location features glass windows that allow customers to watch the dough rolling and pastry preparation. The dining area serves farm salads, quiche, and various pastries, with the space described as busy during breakfast and lunch hours.

Current menu items include Fraisier strawberry sponge cake and Gateau St-Honore, a puff pastry dessert with caramel and vanilla cream. The bakery also offers bread, coffee, matcha, and other classically French pastries. Further details regarding the specific opening date and full Pleasanton menu were not provided in the source material.
