Residents in Pleasanton and nearby cities have a variety of options for celebrating Independence Day on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The holiday falls within a three-day weekend and coincides with the semiquincentennial of the Declaration of Independence. Local organizers are incorporating the 250th anniversary into their programming, which includes parades, musical performances, and fireworks.
In Pleasanton, the 24th annual volunteer concert and picnic will take place at Lions Wayside Park at noon. The Pleasanton Community Concert Band will provide the music, and volunteers will serve six hundred hot dog lunches. Later that day, the Alameda County Fairgrounds will host a full day of rides and entertainment. A large fireworks display is scheduled to conclude the evening at the fair.
Livermore is offering multiple activities for families. The Livermore 4th of July Celebration begins at 9 a.m. at the Livermore Municipal Airport. This event features military aircraft, remote-control planes, and displays of emergency vehicles, jets, and helicopters. At noon, the Robert Livermore Aquatic Center will host a pool party with swimming, music, lawn games, and food trucks. Additionally, the Livermore Independence Day Dash 5K and Kids Run 20 in 2026 will occur on Friday, July 3, at 8 a.m. at Sycamore Grove Park.
Dublin will host the Red, White & Blue Backyard Bash at the Dublin Sports Grounds starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The event includes live entertainment, food, games, and vendor booths. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
In San Ramon, the 40th annual July 4 Run will take place at Central Park starting at 7 a.m. The race includes 5K and 10K distances. Following the race, the Olympia Fields Brass and the band Cheeseballs will perform patriotic, funk, and soul music. Beer, wine, and food will be available for purchase.
Danville is celebrating the 51st anniversary of its Kiwanis-Danville 4th of July Parade. The procession will run from San Ramon Valley High School to Town and Country Drive from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The San Ramon Valley Unified School District has been named the 2026 Parade Grand Marshal.
