The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department is organizing a public ceremony to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The event is scheduled for Friday at 9:45 a.m. at Station 1, located at 3560 Nevada Street in Pleasanton.
In a statement, the department invited community members to attend the gathering. The event is intended to provide a moment to remember those who lost their lives, recognize the actions of first responders, and reflect on the impact the day had on the country.
Other events are planned across the Tri-Valley region for the same day. Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert and the Alameda County Fire Department will host a ceremony at the Alameda County Fairgrounds Amphitheater at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. This program includes remarks from individuals affected by the attacks, a presentation of colors, the national anthem, a rifle salute, and Taps.
An RSVP is required by Thursday for this event.
