Kate Duggan will lead Pleasanton’s Museum on Main as its new executive director, taking responsibility for the downtown museum’s operations, staff development, fundraising and educational programs.

The museum announced her appointment Oct. 6. She succeeds Tony Cruz, who left in August.

Duggan’s background includes volunteer services at Jewish Family & Community Services East Bay and marketing leadership at Shaklee and Albertsons. At Museum on Main, she will work with longtime curator Ken MacLennan on exhibitions and the collection.

The museum’s announcement describes a role that combines keeping daily programs running with developing financial support for its work with schools and the wider public.

Museum on Main is at 603 Main Street in Pleasanton. Its announcement lists visiting hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
