Sutter Health leaders, staff, and elected officials gathered on Sept. 17 to mark the opening of the Pleasanton Care Complex. The 64,000-square-foot facility is designed to consolidate multiple medical specialties in a single location for patients and their families.
The complex offers a broad range of services, including orthopedics, podiatry, physiatry, ophthalmology, optometry, audiology, urology, ear, nose and throat care, gastroenterology, and general surgery. Laboratory and imaging services are also available on-site. Patient care commenced on Sept. 21, with an ambulatory surgery center scheduled to open in January 2027.
Kevin Cook, president of Sutter Health’s Greater Silicon Valley Division, stated that the new site represents a step forward in expanding access to comprehensive care in the Tri-Valley area. He noted that the complex brings more services closer to where patients live and work, and he thanked the operations, facilities, and planning teams involved in the project.
Dr. Kurt VandeVort, CEO of Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group, said the organization aims to provide the best, most comprehensive, and personalized care for its patients. Dr. Mat Hernandez, chief medical officer for the Greater Silicon Valley Division, added that the facility supports a broader strategy to expand capacity and improve access throughout the region by building the right care in the right locations.
Local officials also attended the event. Alameda County supervisor David Haubert highlighted the complex’s importance to the health and well-being of local families, as well as its support for local jobs and long-term economic vitality. Pleasanton city councilmember Julie Testa noted that bringing multiple specialties together will make care more convenient, connected, and accessible throughout the Tri-Valley area.
