North Valley Solar Power announced the expansion of its residential solar services to the Tri-Valley area, extending its operations from its office at 4695 Chabot Dr Ste 200-C in Pleasanton. The company now offers design, permitting assistance, financing coordination, and project management to homeowners throughout the East Bay region.
The expansion addresses changes in Pacific Gas & Electric's Net Billing Tariff, known as NEM 3.0, which altered how exported solar energy is credited. Under these rules, oversized systems no longer provide the same financial returns, making precise system sizing critical for homeowner savings.
North Valley Solar Power designs each installation based on a property's actual energy consumption, roof orientation, and shade patterns rather than using standard templates.
Denae Davis, office manager at North Valley Solar Power, stated that local homeowners are asking more detailed questions about solar installations than in previous years. She noted that the company reviews real PG&E billing data to design systems sized to specific household usage. The team manages projects from initial consultation through utility activation, ensuring clients do not interact with out-of-state call centers.
The local staff includes NABCEP-certified solar designers and energy consultants who evaluate current and projected energy needs, historic utility data, solar exposure, and potential future additions like electric vehicles or battery storage. The company coordinates directly with the City of Pleasanton Building and Safety Division and PG&E for permitting and interconnection, which it says leads to faster approvals.
