Aarya Godse, a junior at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, has released six articles focusing on teen mental health challenges. Her blog, titled "Inside the Student Mind," features interviews with licensed psychologists and other mental health experts to explore topics such as stress, anxiety, emotional wellbeing, and career planning.
Godse stated that her interest in human psychology stems from a desire to assist peers who face similar difficulties. She noted that experiencing these struggles firsthand made it important for her to understand how mental health impacts daily life, relationships, and academic performance.
Through her conversations with professionals, Godse examined various aspects of the field, including career paths, healing processes, the placebo effect, and the role of artificial intelligence in schools. She observed that while the discipline is broad, core elements remain consistent across different specializations.
Godse emphasized that there is no single route to a career in psychology or neuroscience. She noted that professionals often work with diverse populations and utilize different approaches. She also highlighted the necessity of listening, empathy, and understanding individual circumstances in this line of work.
The student plans to continue publishing interviews and hopes to expand the project into panels and workshops. She expressed a desire for individuals struggling with mental health issues to feel comfortable seeking help and to raise awareness about human nature.
