Congresswoman Aisha Wahab is scheduled to host a town hall meeting in Pleasanton next week, focusing on issues affecting her district.
The event will take place Friday, Sept. 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Hall. Wahab plans to address local, statewide, and federal priorities impacting California’s 14th congressional district.
The district includes Hayward, Pleasanton, Livermore, Union City, Castro Valley, and parts of Dublin and Fremont.
Wahab took office on Sept. 2 after winning an August special election to replace Eric Swalwell, who resigned in April following sexual assault allegations. She defeated her opponent by a margin of 53.1% to 46.9%, according to the Secretary of State.
She is now campaigning for a full four-year term in November. Her opponent is Melissa Hernandez, president of the BART Board of Directors and former mayor of Dublin.
