Zone 7 Water Agency and retail water providers, including California Water Service, Livermore Municipal Water Service, Dublin San Ramon Service District, and Pleasanton Municipal Water Service, are asking Tri-Valley residents and businesses to temporarily implement greater conservation efforts for outdoor water use. This voluntary effort runs from Saturday, June 27 through Thursday, July 2.
The request coincides with seasonally necessary planned maintenance on State Water Project facilities by the California Department of Water Resources. The State Water Project supplies approximately 70% of the water used throughout the Tri-Valley. During the six-day maintenance period, water deliveries available to Zone 7 will be temporarily reduced while critical infrastructure is serviced for repairs.
Zone 7 and local water retailers have planned for the outage and will continue supplying water throughout the maintenance period using locally stored imported supplies and local groundwater resources. However, reducing outdoor water use during this brief period helps preserve those supplies for essential needs.
