Pleasanton Council Seeks Approval for Six Consultant Contract Amendments

Contract Amendments Proposed

The Pleasanton City Council will consider resolutions authorizing the City Manager to execute contract amendments or one-year contracts with six professional service firms.

The action aims to approve budget amendments alongside the consulting agreements to maintain ongoing operations within the Public Works Department.

Consultants and Project Scope

Biggs Cardosa Associates will handle CIP 18437 for Valley Avenue soundwall repair. Woodard & Curran, Inc. is assigned to CIPs 24171 and 24173 for near-term water improvements.

Ruggeri-Jensen-Azar will manage CIP 26295 for Sunol Boulevard sewer improvements. Mark Thomas & Company, Inc. will oversee CIPs 11514 and 26514 for West Las Positas Boulevard multimodal reconstruction.

Geocon Consultants, Inc. is contracted for CIP 25504 regarding annual slurry sealing of various streets. Wood Rodgers, Inc. will provide on-call land surveying services.

Authorization Process

The city utilizes professional civil engineering consultants to supplement in-house staff resources for Capital Improvement Program implementation and subdivision map processing.

Historically, the municipality has deployed on-call consultants when agreements and funding were already established, while utilizing project-specific consultants based on task size and scope.

All professional service agreements require prior City Council authorization with established terms and maximum contract amounts. Six current agreements now need amendments or new one-year contracts to ensure uninterrupted services.
