Ray Reaches Career Milestone
Robbie Ray captured his 100th career win on Saturday, September 12, 2026, as the San Diego Padres defeated the San Francisco Giants 7-5 at Oracle Park. The Padres, who improved their record to 79-68, relied on a powerful offensive outburst to overcome a shaky start from their ace.
Ray pitched five innings, allowing four hits and five earned runs while walking four batters and striking out five. His record now stands at 12-8.
Padres Take Early Lead
The away team struck first in the top of the first inning when Josh Harrison singled to left field, scoring Merrill. The Padres added another run in the top of the second when Harris singled to left, bringing home Merrill. The Giants responded in the bottom of the first with a run scored by Cox, tying the game at 1-1.
However, San Diego regained the lead in the bottom of the second when Fermin doubled to center, driving in Harris.

The Padres extended their lead to 7-1 in the top of the third with a series of hits, including a triple by Harris and a double by Fermin.
San Francisco’s best offensive moment came in the fifth inning when Devers homered to right field, driving in three runs to make it 7-5. Despite the effort, the Giants could not close the gap.
Bullpen Secures Victory
The Padres bullpen preserved the lead in the late innings. Yuki Matsui pitched one hitless inning without allowing a run or a walk. Adrian Morejon followed with one inning of work, allowing no hits or earned runs while striking out two.
Bradgley Rodriguez pitched one inning, allowing one hit but no earned runs or walks, while striking out two. Mason Miller closed the game with one inning of relief, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out two for his 35th save. Anthony Molina took the loss, pitching three innings while allowing nine hits and seven earned runs.
