He was supported by Mason Miller, who recorded his 36th save by pitching one scoreless inning to close out the game.

San Diego took an early lead in the first inning when Devers homered to right-center field, driving in two runs. The Padres extended their advantage in the second inning as Harris singled to left, bringing home Bogaerts and Hays to make it 4-2. However, the Giants responded immediately with a Whitcomb home run to center, cutting the deficit to 4-3.
San Diego regained momentum in the fourth inning when Harris hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Taylor. The Padres added another run in the fifth on a bunt single by Cronenworth that allowed Hays to score. Tatis Jr. provided a crucial boost in the sixth with a home run to left field, making it 6-3.
The Giants mounted a comeback attempt in the seventh inning. A fielding error by third baseman Whitcomb allowed Bogaerts to score, followed by Taylor reaching third safely, narrowing the gap to 7-4. The game remained tight until the eighth inning when Cavanaugh homered to right field, bringing the score to 7-5.
Gilbert then delivered a two-run home run to right center, tying the game at 6-6 before Tatis Jr. scored on a subsequent play to put San Diego ahead 7-6.
