Giants’ Starter Shines
Trevor McDonald provided the anchor for the San Francisco Giants, delivering six scoreless innings of efficient pitching to secure the win. The right-hander allowed just one hit while striking out five batters, avoiding any walks in the process. His performance was instrumental in keeping the Diamondbacks off the board until the late innings, setting the stage for his team’s offensive explosion.
McDonald’s outing improved his record to 3-6 on the season. He was supported by a bullpen that largely maintained the lead, though the final frame required careful management. Erik Miller pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts, and Dylan Smith closed out the eighth with a strikeout. Caleb Kilian earned the save by retiring the side in the ninth with two strikeouts, completing the relief effort.
Giants’ Offense Explodes
The Giants’ bats finally found their rhythm in the fifth inning, breaking a scoreless tie with a flurry of power and speed. Ramos led the charge with a home run to center field, measuring 427 feet, giving San Francisco a 1-0 advantage. The momentum continued as Bericoto launched a 422-foot home run to left-center field, driving in Lee to extend the lead to 3-0.
The scoring barrage did not stop there. In the sixth inning, the Giants added three more runs. Ramos tripled to center field, and after an upheld umpire review, Devers crossed the plate to make it 4-0. Lee followed with a single to right field, scoring Ramos for a 5-0 count. Cavanaugh then singled to center, bringing Lee home from third base to push the margin to 6-0.
