San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk was fined $14,926 after a touchdown celebration during the team’s 35-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. The NFL classified the gesture as an offensive demonstration, according to ESPN.
Juszczyk appeared to imitate drinking a beer after a play. He has appealed the fine and told ESPN that he uses the celebration for touchdowns and first downs as a reference to his nickname, “Juice.” He also texted, “And I don't even drink beer!”
The league’s fine letter said, “Your imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste.”
The fine followed another penalty against Juszczyk during the 49ers’ Week 1 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Australia. He was fined $20,033 for using his helmet while lead-blocking for running back Christian McCaffrey.
Juszczyk has been with the 49ers since 2017. He is a 10-time Pro Bowl selection and a three-time All-Pro.
