The injury occurred on a play when Robinson had separation near the end zone. The pass was behind him, and his ankle appeared to catch on the playing surface as he tried to make the play.
Robinson’s status for the rest of the game was not yet clear. The 49ers did not immediately rule him out, according to Niners Nation.
The injury came after a series of receiver setbacks for San Francisco. Ricky Pearsall is out for the season, while Christian Kirk and De’Zhaun Stribling are on injured reserve. Niners Nation had identified Pearsall, Kirk and Stribling as players expected to be among the team’s leading receivers entering the regular season.
