Ladd McConkey's status for the Los Angeles Chargers' Week 2 game against the Las Vegas Raiders remains uncertain after he injured his ribs in a 26-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The third-year receiver led Los Angeles with five receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game.

McConkey was hurt while attempting to catch a pass over the middle. Cardinals linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. struck him in the back, and McConkey stayed on the field before eventually walking to the sideline without assistance. After an examination in the medical tent, he went to the locker room and did not return.

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported that McConkey is dealing with a rib injury and will be monitored during the week. Rapoport also reported that McConkey's availability against Las Vegas has not been determined. The Chargers had not issued an official update on his condition, and coach Jim Harbaugh did not provide one after the game.

Quarterback Justin Herbert said he was hoping McConkey would recover. Herbert also said the team would rely on its other players if needed. USA TODAY reported that McConkey is one of six wide receivers on the Chargers' 53-player roster.

Joshua Palmer and Derius Davis led the Chargers' receivers in offensive snaps against Arizona and would be positioned for larger roles if McConkey cannot play. Palmer had two catches for 17 yards, while Davis made three receptions for 20 yards. Quentin Johnston and Brenden Rice each played 10 offensive snaps without recording a catch.

Tre Harris also sustained a hamstring injury in the opener and could be unavailable for Week 2. If Harris cannot play, the Chargers could add Gary Jennings or Theo Wease Jr. for additional receiver depth.
