The Los Angeles Chargers listed eight players who did not participate in Wednesday's practice as the team began preparations for its Week 3 game against the Buffalo Bills. Derwin James Jr. and Khalil Mack were given veteran rest days, while James also appeared on the report with a finger injury.
The other players held out were Elijah Molden, who has a hamstring issue; Dalvin Tomlinson, also listed with a hamstring injury; Trey Pipkins III, with a knee injury; Kayode Awosika, with a fibula injury; and Brenen Thompson, with a quadriceps injury. Charlie Kolar did not practice because of a forearm injury after undergoing surgery Monday.
Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh said Wednesday that Kolar will not be placed on injured reserve, despite an earlier expectation that he would be. The source did not provide a timetable for Kolar's return.
Four Chargers were limited: Rashawn Slater with a groin injury, Tuli Tuipulotu and Rodney Shelley with hamstring injuries, and Cole Strange with a pectoral injury. Ladd McConkey, listed with a rib injury, and Deane Leonard, listed with an abdominal injury, were full participants.
