Cal has listed seven players on its initial injury report before this weekend’s ACC opener at Syracuse, with no Bears designated as out. The game is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Pacific time and will air on the ACC Network.
Running back Carter Vargas and offensive lineman Kahlee Tafai are listed as doubtful. Outside linebackers Justin Beadles and Sergine Tounkara, tight end Rico Walker, and wide receivers Trevor Rogers and Cole Boscia are designated questionable.
Beadles participated in pregame warmups before Cal’s game against UCLA and is described as moving toward a possible return. Tight end Dorian Thomas also warmed up before that game and is nearing a return, but he and center Bastian Swinney are not included on the current report.
The ACC requires football availability reports to be filed each day beginning three nights before a conference game, along with another report two hours before kickoff on game day. The designations can change as additional reports are issued, and two more reports remain before the Syracuse matchup.
