Cal football will face nine Atlantic Coast Conference opponents in 2027, with four games scheduled at California Memorial Stadium and five on the road. The ACC released the conference matchups Wednesday.
Boston College, Florida State, Louisville and SMU will visit Cal, while the Bears will travel to Georgia Tech, Miami, Pitt, Stanford and Wake Forest. The trip to Georgia Tech will be Cal’s first meeting with the Yellow Jackets as ACC members and will complete matchups with the conference’s other 16 football teams since Cal joined the league in 2024.
Boston College and Cal have split two previous meetings. The Bears won 28-24 at Boston College last season when Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele connected with Mason Mini for a 51-yard touchdown with 1:30 remaining. The 2027 game will be Boston College’s first at Memorial Stadium.
Florida State also will make its first trip to Berkeley. The Seminoles won the teams’ only earlier matchup, 14-9, in 2024. Louisville will likewise visit Memorial Stadium for the first time. Cal won the lone previous meeting, defeating the Cardinals 29-26 in overtime at Louisville last season after Sagapolutele threw a 3-yard touchdown to Jacob De Jesus on fourth-and-goal in the extra period.
SMU holds a 2-1 advantage in its series with Cal, although the Bears won the most recent game, 38-35 at Memorial Stadium in last year’s regular-season finale. Sagapolutele passed for 330 yards and four touchdowns in that game. Cal is scheduled to play SMU in Dallas on Oct. 24 this season.
