Kaiir Elam, a former first-round selection by the Buffalo Bills, has joined the Los Angeles Chargers’ practice squad, according to reports published Sept. 17.
The Bills chose Elam 23rd overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He did not become a regular starter in Buffalo before the team traded him to the Dallas Cowboys ahead of the 2025 season.
Elam started seven of 10 games for Dallas before being released Nov. 22. He completed the 2025 season with the Tennessee Titans.
In April, Elam agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.81 million with the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City released him Aug. 31 after he participated in training camp and the preseason.
The Chargers signing gives Elam another opportunity to continue his NFL career. The reports did not provide further details about his role or contract with Los Angeles.
