Washington and San Jose State have agreed to resume their football series with a game at Husky Stadium on Sept. 17, 2033. The matchup is the University of Washington’s only announced nonconference game scheduled beyond the 2030 season.
The future schedule comes as Washington works through several nonconference considerations, including games that could affect playoff prospects, lower-division matchups that can influence attendance and the continuation of the Apple Cup against Washington State. The current Apple Cup agreement ends after the 2028 game.
Washington’s 2028 nonconference schedule includes Eastern Washington, UNLV and Washington State. The Huskies are set to visit Tennessee and host Boise State in 2029, with a third opponent still undetermined. That game is expected to be at Husky Stadium so Washington has at least six home games.
The article also says Washington has three home nonconference games scheduled for 2030 against Tennessee, Hawaii and Boise State, which would leave no Apple Cup game that year unless the schedule changes.
Washington has beaten San Jose State in each of the teams’ 10 previous meetings, with winning margins ranging from three points to 43. The first matchup took place in 1958, when the Huskies won 14-6. The most recent game was in 2006, a 35-29 Washington victory under coach Tyrone Willingham.
