The Chargers signed tight end Hayden Rucci to their active roster after placing Charlie Kolar and David Njoku on injured reserve. The team also released wide receiver Gary Jennings, according to Yahoo Sports.
Rucci joins Oronde Gadsden II as the Chargers’ only two tight ends listed on the roster as of Wednesday. The source did not provide additional details about Jennings’ release.
Rucci played college football at Wisconsin, where he recorded 17 catches for 200 yards and one touchdown. At the NFL scouting combine, he measured 6 feet 5 inches and 247 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in 5.04 seconds, posted a 32-inch vertical jump and completed the short shuttle in 4.40 seconds.
He appeared in four NFL games, all with Miami in 2025, and played 39 total snaps. Twenty-nine of those snaps came as a run blocker, for which he received a season grade of 56.6.
