Puka Nacua's status for the Los Angeles Rams' Week 3 game remains uncertain, with coach Sean McVay saying the team does not view the wide receiver's injury as a long-term concern. McVay said the Rams are taking a cautious approach.
Nacua missed Monday night's game after the injury report listed a hip issue. McVay later said the problem was soreness in Nacua's groin and said the receiver does not have a hernia.
The Rams conducted a walkthrough instead of a practice Wednesday because of the short week. The team estimated Nacua would not have participated if a regular practice had been held. McVay said the Rams will evaluate whether Nacua can practice Thursday and acknowledged that the receiver is frustrated by the situation.
McVay said the team wants Nacua to return ready to perform rather than play through the issue. He previously said the injury was unrelated to the psoas problem that caused Nacua to miss time in August.
