The NFL fined four players for penalties during the Los Angeles Rams' 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Rams linebacker Nate Landman received the largest penalty among the two teams' cited players, with a fine of $11,111 for an illegal helmet-related hit on 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey during the second quarter.
The league's maximum listed fine for a first offense of that type was $23,882, while a second offense could have resulted in a penalty of up to $47,762. Landman may appeal, and revised league rules could allow him to recover some or all of the money if he avoids additional incidents.
Rams defensive lineman Tyler Davis was also fined for an incident in the second quarter. He was penalized during the game for roughing the passer after a hit to the head or neck of 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. Davis' fine was $6,225.
