Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Davante Adams demonstrated their growing chemistry during a joint practice with the New Orleans Saints at the Rams' facility in Woodland Hills, California. The duo connected for two touchdowns, including a notable fade ball from Stafford that Adams caught along the right sideline, showcasing their effective collaboration against the Saints' starting defense.
With fellow receiver Puka Nacua sidelined due to a psoas injury, Adams emerged as the primary target for Stafford. Throughout training camp, the pair has developed a smooth connection, despite some earlier drops by Adams.
Rams coach Sean McVay noted the importance of repetition for building rapport between players, emphasizing that their successful connections against tight coverage were a positive sign for the team's offensive strategy.
Last season, the partnership faced challenges, as Adams was new to the team and Stafford dealt with a back issue that limited his practice time. This lack of preparation contributed to a rocky start for Adams, who struggled with his reception rate in the early games of the season.
However, after adjusting their roles and gaining valuable practice time, Adams finished the season strong, leading the league in receiving touchdowns.
