Los Angeles Rams pass rusher Myles Garrett will undergo knee surgery and miss at least four games after being placed on injured reserve. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the move on Sept. 13, and The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero was first to report it.
Garrett’s knee had limited him during training camp and the Rams’ season opener. The issue followed his offseason trade from the Cleveland Browns, though Garrett and the team had described it as minor and characterized his earlier absences as maintenance.
Garrett said after Thursday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers that he had been concerned about the knee during the game and acknowledged that he was not playing at his usual level. He recorded five quarterback pressures, but finished without a sack or tackle.
The Rams are scheduled to play the Giants, Broncos, Eagles and Bills during the four-game stretch Garrett is expected to miss. Los Angeles hosts the Cardinals in Week 6, which is the first game for which Garrett could be eligible to return.
