The Los Angeles Chargers announced Sept. 22 that they had added tight end Hayden Rucci to the active roster from the Jacksonville practice squad. The team also waived wide receiver Gary Jennings in a related move.
Rucci entered the NFL in 2024 as an undrafted free agent who signed with the Miami Dolphins. He played in four games for Miami in 2025 and recorded one special-teams tackle.
He also spent part of the end of last season with the Detroit Lions and was with the San Francisco 49ers during the offseason.
At Wisconsin, Rucci played four seasons from 2020 through 2023 after redshirting in 2019. He appeared in 29 games, started 18 at tight end, and finished with 17 catches for 200 yards and one touchdown.
