Pleasanton, California — The San Francisco 49ers added punter Jack Bouwmeester on a three-year contract Saturday, according to the club. The transaction also put rookie tight end Khalil Dinkins on the active/non-football injury list.
Bouwmeester arrives after playing at Texas in 2025. The 49ers said he appeared in all 13 Longhorns games that season and recorded 59 punts for 2,627 yards, an average of 44.5 yards.
His college path also included Utah and Michigan State. San Francisco’s announcement lists 53 games over five seasons, with 213 punts and a 43.8-yard career average.
Niners Nation reported that Bouwmeester joins Corliss Waitman among the club’s active punters. The outlet also reported that Dinkins, an undrafted rookie, would not count against the 53-man roster while on the active/non-football injury list.
The move is a roster transaction ahead of the 49ers’ 2026 training-camp period, a development followed across the East Bay as the Bay Area team builds its special-teams group.
