Langford Delivers in the Tenth
Tyler Langford provided the decisive offensive spark for the Texas Rangers, driving in the game-winning run and scoring on a base hit to secure a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday. The contest remained scoreless through nine full innings before both clubs traded blows in the top of the tenth at Globe Life Field.
With the score tied at one, Langford reached on a double to right field, allowing Carter to score and give Arlington a 2-1 lead. The Rangers held on to claim the win, improving their season record to 64-65, while the Angels fell to 51-78.
A Scoreless Nine-Inning Standoff
The first nine innings featured a tight pitching duel that kept the scoreboard blank. MacKenzie Gore anchored the Rangers' rotation, throwing six scoreless innings while striking out seven batters. He allowed only two hits and one walk before handing the ball to the bullpen.
The Angels' Reid Detmers matched Gore’s effectiveness, also pitching six scoreless innings. Detmers struck out five and allowed six hits, though he gave up no earned runs. The remaining innings of regulation were handled by relief pitchers who kept the game tied heading into extra time.
