The San Francisco 49ers experienced several injuries during their 41-17 preseason win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night, as noted by head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Cornerback Renardo Green left the game in the first half due to a hamstring injury and did not return. Offensive lineman Austen Pleasants exited in the second half after dealing with a knee injury, while linebacker Nick Martin sustained a hamstring injury before the game concluded.
Shanahan indicated uncertainty regarding the severity of Green's injury, stating that further imaging would be needed to determine if he had sustained a pull. Jack Jones took over Green's position at cornerback during the game.
Pleasants, who started at left tackle and also worked at guard, was reported to have a knee issue that is not believed to be an ACL injury, but further evaluation is necessary to clarify the situation.
Details on Martin's injury were not elaborated upon by Shanahan. Additionally, guard Robert Jones was confirmed to be sidelined with an unspecified injury and did not participate in Thursday's game; he may miss another week.
